Who I am

by Studio.SC is a sole trader business run by Sophie.

I am the data controller for the information described in this policy. That means I decide what is collected and why, and I'm responsible for looking after it.

What I collect

When you sign up for a free workbook or join my email list, I collect:

Your first name and email address — the details you type into the form
The date and time you signed up, and your IP address — recorded automatically as evidence that you gave consent
Whether you open my emails and click links in them — so I can see what's useful and what isn't

That's all. I don't collect payment details, I don't use website analytics, and I don't run advertising pixels.

Why I collect it, and my lawful basis

I use your name and email address to send you the free workbook you asked for, and to send you occasional emails about by Studio.SC — new products, writing, and things I think you'll find useful.

My lawful basis is your consent. You give it by entering your details and then clicking the confirmation link in the email I send you. Both steps are recorded.

I use open and click information to understand what's working. If you'd rather not be tracked in this way, you can unsubscribe at any time and it stops immediately.

Who else sees it

Your details are stored in MailerLite, the email platform I use to send and manage my list. MailerLite processes your data on my instructions and under a data processing agreement. They do not use it for their own purposes.

Data may be stored or processed outside the UK. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards are in place to protect it.

Nobody else has access to your information. I don't sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone.

How long I keep it

I keep your details for as long as you're subscribed.

If you unsubscribe, I keep a minimal record of your email address and the fact that you opted out. This is so I don't accidentally email you again, and so I can show I honoured your request.

If you'd like your details removed entirely, email me and I'll delete them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

Be told what data I hold about you, and get a copy of it
Correct anything that's wrong
Have it deleted
Restrict or object to how I use it
Take it elsewhere in a portable format
Withdraw your consent at any time

Withdrawing consent is as simple as clicking Unsubscribe at the bottom of any email. You can also email me at hello@bystudiosc.com and I'll take care of it.

I'll respond to any request within one month.

Cookies

The sign-up pages use a small number of essential cookies set by MailerLite so the forms work properly and to remember that you've already subscribed.

I don't use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels from third parties.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first — email hello@bystudiosc.com and I'll do my best to put it right.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, I'll tell you by email.
